About the Designer
Born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, Karla studied interior design at Dunwoody College of Technology, where she earned her bachelor's degree, graduating Phi Theta Kappa. Karla has worked with a variety of industry leaders over the past nine years in the commercial sector, overseeing and project managing notable commercial projects, and as of recent launched a residential design studio, KFM Designs.
Est. 2022, KFM Designs is a residential interior design studio, based in Minneapolis, MN, with a passion to create distinctive spaces that seamlessly blend classical form, custom pieces, and luxury lines. KFMD is a boutique studio, who's designs encompass elegance, attention to detail, and a perfect balance of function and flare. Each project is tailored to meet the unique needs, desires, and dreams of each client.

This charming colonial style single family home has been completely renovated and restored. By opening up the lower level, homeowners are able to easily entertain while whipping up meals in the newly renovated kitchen. The beautifully tiled fire place and custom built-ins are the perfect place to showcase family photos and life's accomplishments. Wrought-iron and dark hardwood floors add contrast and clean lines. Although this was a complete restoration, we were able to maintain the homes' character and charm!

Fellowship Church Redefined
To support Fellowships' Youth Centric mission, KFM headed up design and renovations in the church’s lower level to create a modern, multi-use space for young people and the community.
This welcoming environment includes comfortable areas for intimate seating and larger fellowship settings.
This youth focused safe space features state-of-the-art technology, new windows that line the interior corridor for more transparency and a newly added check-in desk and therapy suite.

Allow us to share the journey...
Our goal with this project is to increase Jayden's ability to self regulate, enable ownership of his therapeutic space and provide a special place for Paxton, his service dog and best friend.
As a kid with high sensory needs and a love for sports, Jayde's arena will include lockers so he can organize his collection of toys and tennis shoes, a Michael Jordan-inspired sensory wall panel, customized light controls, a cool gaming area for him and his friends, and specific space for remote learning.
